Pebworth and District W.I.

Welcome to Pebworth and District WI

Our branch of the largest women’s organisation in the UK was formed in 1951 and, 72 years later it continues to thrive with approximately 40 members of all ages. As well as the friendship, support and fun which our members enjoy throughout the year there is much more to be gained by joining the WI.

We all enjoy -
  • our monthly meetings when we welcome speakers on all sorts of subjects (take a look at our programme to see what’s coming up this year).
  • the chance to learn new skills and crafts from online and face-to-face courses. Last year we learned how to make our own Christmas cards and produced fabulous seasonal wreaths for our front doors.
  • the opportunity to campaign on important issues of the day, knowing that, as the UK’s largest woman’s organisation, our views are regularly consulted by government agencies. Our concerns recently include violence against women, excessive plastic packaging and river pollution.
  • supporting local charities whether it be donating to the Air Ambulance, Bidford’s Dementia Café and the Shakespeare Hospice and collecting regularly for Meon Vale Foodbank.
  • helping less advantaged women and girls in Sierra Leone by providing knitted blankets and garments through the skills of our Knit and Natter group.
  • meeting up with other Worcestershire WI members whether it be at county events, skittles matches, quizzes, courses, etc
  • being a part of the Pebworth community by organising the annual parish litter pick and by providing our legendary teas at Party in the Park and at Open Gardens weekends.
  • spending time with friends, old and new, whether it be at monthly meetings, at book club evenings, visiting the theatre or local places of interest.

If any of the above appeal to you, why not come to a meeting as a guest for £4 ? We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.30 pm in Pebworth Village Hall. You will be made very welcome and will enjoy a delicious tea!
