Pebworth and District W.I.

Forget the stereotypical image of a WI member linked to Jam and Jerusalem!

Yes we are proud of our heritage, but we are a modern , active and lively organisation with over 30 members of all ages, who meet on the first Wednesday of each month 7.30 to 9.30pm at Pebworth Village Hall.

The WI is an opportunity to share knowledge with other women, come together socially, have fun and maybe learn new skills. We have a range of interesting speakers and activities which have included Belly Dancing, Tai Chi, Willow making and a Fashion Show.

There are lots of social activities and outings as well as interest groups, such as thriving book clubs, monthly knit and natter sessions, fun competitions, crafting, skittles and quiz teams.

We support other organisations in our village such as Pebworth First School, Pebworth in Bloom, National Open Gardens, Fibrex Nursery Open Days, St Peter's Church Fabric Repair and our Annual Litter Pick.

As part of the largest women’s organisation in the UK we are also a campaigning organisation on matters affecting us all, with a democratic process to support selected annual campaigns currently in areas such as Climate Change, Don’t Fear the Smear and Prevention of Human Trafficking. If this is what inspires you, the WI has a voice which is listened to by Government and other organisations.

You will be given a warm welcome at our WI, so why not pop in and attend a meeting, or give our secretary a call, or email to have a chat and find out more?   Our Annual subscription is £42 and we offer regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month as well as receiving the benefits of being part of the National WI organisation with a range of on line courses and National/Worcestershire events as well as a quarterly magazine.

For everyone who joins the WI there is the freedom to take what you want from it: A new social circle, a break in the month just for you, or a chance to try new hobbies or activities.

Whether you wish to attend every meeting or dip in and out whilst juggling everything else in your life, you will be most welcome.

P.S. We do also like cake (and you can always find a sumptuous spread at our meetings), know some brilliant jam recipes and do love to sing Jerusalem!
